SUPPORTING VEGAN TEENS

V.T.F SCHOLARSHIP

The Vegan Teens Are The Future Scholarship started with the realization that being a vegan high school student is no easy task.  Teenagers who make a commitment to being vegan are highly dedicated individuals who base their commitment not on the System's expectation of them as a young person, but on their own sense of ethics - ethics of nonviolence, reverence for life, and commune with the earth and its inhabitants.

Our scholarships are very open ended.  There are no traditional requirements other than being a high school junior or senior pursuing post-diploma, tuition-based education.  The intent of the scholarship is to reward students as much as it is to enable their continuing education.  It is an attempt to put scholarship money where it belongs - with kids taking personal action for no personal gain to make themselves and the world a better place.

Our goal is to award scholarships of $500 and up for students who are interested in pursuing studies that will enable them in a life committed to part-time or full-time, passive or active, vegan activism.  The scholarships are hosted through bold.org, and they are awarded on November 1, World Vegan Day.  All that is required is an essay describing the applicant's coming into veganism, why it's important to them, and their dreams or plans to use their education to somehow grow the vegan movement in the future.

Our $1,000 scholarship is open to all US high school seniors intent on attending a tuition-based institution after graduation.  All that is required is a 300-600 word essay. Link above and apply through bold.org!

OUR MISSION

We feel strongly that the adoption of a vegan ethical framework is the most effective and important step a person can take to truly change themselves and the world for the better.  We would like to support teens who have already made this choice and would like to use their education to further their abilities to influence others towards veganism.  This mission is important in ending the climate crisis, global water misuse, cruelty as a foundation for diet, and the bigotry of speciesism.

Our goal is to award scholarships of $500 and up for students who are interested in pursuing studies that will enable them in a life committed to part-time or full-time, passive or active, vegan activism.
